I need help with a new hair style?

K so I'm a girl. I want to get like a scene/skater girl/rockstar hairstyle. And if you go on google and search that, it will refer to emo. And IM NOT EMO . LOL. So um, my hair is mid length,brown/red I have side bangs. The length is an inch below my shoulder when straightened. When curly or scrunched, it's shoulder length.

SEE? It says emo, I don't want to be ';labeled'; as emo. because i don't want to be emo. And would it work with my hair if it's longer than that? And I won't be getting all the highlights on the hair. It's just going to be brown/reddish color. And not so much of the choppy layers.

I saw this cool haircut when I was on vaction. I dont think I can get a picture. But, I can descibe it. It was short in the back and then on one side in the front it was long and she put some pink streaks in there and i thought it looked really cool.
I think that hairstyle wouldn't look good with hair longer than that.
