What new hair style should I get (photo and other info inside)?

Ok, first, here is a photo of myself:

Didn't know it was that messy at the time, but, whatever..You can see the length, color, and current style.



I'd like to try something different. I've considered some ';emo'; type styles before... I might put some red and/or black streaks in my hair.



Ok, now for some additional info that could factor into a hair style: I'm a very quiet and shy person, with a social anxiety problem. I have trouble smiling a lot (trying to get better). I'm tall and pretty thin. Some of my favorite music: Electronic/dance, Coldplay, The Killers, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Tears for Fears, Nine Inch Nails, and Gorillaz.



Also, I'm an artistic person, and I'm going to an art college this fall, if that helps with anything. I don't want anything too crazy and ';unique';, but something different.What new hair style should I get (photo and other info inside)?
Let it grow out a bit and maybe try something like this.

Back to the topic at hand:



Based on the fact that you're shy and from your picture, I think you should grow out your hair, dye it black, and like pull it over one eye. Do you know what I mean? Like half of your face covered. That'd be pretty cool. Also get a straightener, it helps a lot. :)
Grow it out a little bit and go to someone who really know how to do hair well (you might have to pay a little more for a good stylists) and ask them what would go good w/ your face shape...i think growing it out a bit will look good and just trimming the ends when its grown out.
Wow your face already told me your shy and quiet anyway it might be hard to pull off a look for you cause I see guys who look like you a few times and I don't know a style that would suit them. I guess emo is the best.
If you're so artistic why don't you just come up with your own new hairstyle.
