AHH new hair style how should I style it other than its regular look?

Okay sooo i went super cheap and got a 12 inch instead of a 18 inch like i was supposed to soo when i went to get my weave cut in a scene style the people couldnt do it exactly like i wanted it so instead i setteled for this daring choppy side cut... its not my usual thoughts for scene style but i thought id set the bar high... I dont plan on keeping this cut too long but in the mean time i want to make it work for me... if i teased it and sprayed it im sure it would look better but if i did that it would also mess up the hair quality sooo i dont want to do that until about a month into my styling...

yeahh soo idk what to do soo any one got any ideas? I was thinking about if i put headbands in it for a while that may work... im still thinking of how to pull it back and iwas thinking of curling it but i dont know how to get the curls in it with the straightener... sooo yeah and what do you guys think of the cut it self PLEASE BE HONEST...AHH new hair style how should I style it other than its regular look?
